The OSU Student Chapter of the American Nuclear Society is hosting a multi‑lab panel featuring leading researchers from SRNL, LLNL, PNNL, and ANL. This event offers students a rare opportunity to hear directly from scientists and engineers working across fusion fuel cycle research, nuclear materials science, environmental monitoring, machine learning, nuclear forensics, and advanced reactor safety.
Speakers include:
- Dr. Bronson Lynn (SRNL) — Specialist in hydrogen isotope separation and tritium–material interactions for the fusion fuel cycle.
- Dr. Brandon Chung (LLNL) — Group Leader in nuclear materials and tritium operations, with expertise spanning actinide science, solid‑state chemistry, electrochemistry, and nuclear forensics.
- Dr. Kelly Truax (PNNL) — Researcher in environmental monitoring, radiation detection, and AI/ML applications for nuclear forensics and automated gamma‑spectra analysis.
- Dr. Dave Grabaskas (ANL) — Risk analyst focused on advanced reactor licensing, probabilistic risk assessment, passive safety reliability, and risk‑informed regulatory approaches.
Students will gain insight into national lab career paths, ongoing research challenges, and the interdisciplinary work shaping the future of nuclear science and technology. Food will be provided.
